Business Communications

Mrs. Wood

 

This class is designed to help student prepare for and understand events associated with Business Professionals of America (BPA).  Students will engage in a variety of hands-on activities to cover the material and to understand professionalism and concepts associated with BPA.  Various software programs and computer output devices will be used for students to produce documents, present ideas, demonstrate projects, and store information.  The class will be based on individual projects and goals for BPA and this class.

Grading

Grades will be based on total points.

Points will include:

 

  • Daily Work
  • Tests and Quizzes
  • Projects
  • Simulations
  • Participation

Semester Grades – Final grades will be determined using the following scale

Quarter 1 – 40%, Quarter 2 – 40%

Final Exam – 20%.  Final exams may consist of a test and/or project.

 

Daily Work – Worksheets, bookwork, assignments (points will vary).

 

Tests and Quizzes – These could be practice tests used for BPA or class tests.

 

Projects– Projects will vary from individual to group.  These projects may include presentations and demonstrations as well as written (points vary depending on projects).

 

Simulations – Simulations may be used in a variety of units (points will vary depending on assignment).

 

Participation – The success of a student in this class will depend largely on participation. This also includes behavior and participation on field trips and with guest speakers (points will vary depending on participation level).
