The following activities will be completed throughout the semester and not necessarily in the order listed.  Students will engage in a variety of hands-on activities to cover the material.  A large majority of the material will be covered through simulations and projects, both individual and group.

Grading

Grades will be based on total points

Points will include:

 

  • Daily Work
  • Tests and Quizzes
  • Projects
  • Simulations
  • Participation

 

Semester Grades – Final grades will be determined using the following scale

Quarter 1 – 40%, Quarter 2 – 40%

Final Exam – 20%.  Final exams may consist of a test and/or project.

 

Daily Work – Worksheets, bookwork, assignments, article reviews, current events (10-20 points).

 

Tests and Quizzes – Every unit will have a test and/or quiz (50-100 points).

 

Projects– Projects will vary from individual to group.  These projects may include presentations and demonstrations as well as written (points will vary depending on projects).

 

Simulations – Simulations may be used in a variety of units (points will vary depending on assignment).

 

Participation – Since the points in this class largely consist of projects and simulations, class participation is vital. This also includes behavior and participation on field trips and with guest speakers (points will vary depending on participation level).
