Overview
In order to meet the individual needs of diverse learners in a dynamic society, Livingston Public School Districts 4 & 1 (LPS) are commited to the development and implementation of highest-quality curriculum and instruction (C&I).
The cycle of curriculum development and implementation includes a research, writing, and resource adoption phase; a pre-implementation team phase; and a whole-faculty full implementation and reflection phase. While materials adoption typically takes place on a 7-year rotation, assessment and adaptation are ongoing. Data analysis, teacher expertise, standards, and community interest and asset inventories guide LPS C&I decisions. It is the goal of LPS C&I to help students achieve nationally-recognized, high academic standards in a specialized way through the efforts of highly-skilled faculty and via utilization of community resources. |
